While Fall is arriving and the temperatures are dropping, this year’s outdoor festivities on George Street aren’t over just yet! The annual George Street Mardi Gras takes place Saturday, October 26th!
Though most Mardi Gras celebrations in other parts of the world don’t take place in October, George Street does things a little different. Here, Mardi Gras is more of a Halloween-themed event.
Many people dress up in Halloween costumes, and there’s even a big contest with prizes for 1st-5th place best costumes, plus an additional 5 prizes of $200 this year.
Similar to George Street Festival, during Mardi Gras, George Street is gated and party-goers get access to all bars for a single admission fee. There’s also an outdoor concert featuring Guns N Roses tribute Hollywood Rose, DJs Halftraxx and M-Town.
