In the summer of 2020, we were excited about the flags that we began seeing inside cases of Blue Star beer. It was a bright spot of what was, overall, a pretty awful year for the entire world! At the time, we wrote about the rarity of promotional campaigns that focus on Newfoundland-only beer brands. Luckily, we were wrong: you can get even more Blue Star beer flags in 2021!
When Can I Get One?
Amy and the b’ys over at Labatt reached out (knowing how much Blue Star we drink around here) to let us know that the flags will be available starting around the end of March 2021. They will be available at retail locations throughout the province. March has been chosen this year in celebration of the anniversary of Newfoundland and Labrador joining Canada on March 31, 1949.
What Do the Flags Look Like?
This year, four designs in total are being offered. Thankfully, the two designs from last year are included too. The production run lasted such a short time last year, so anyone who missed out on 2020’s designs can still get them this time! Designs added this year include one with the retro Blue Star logo and one that incorporates the flag of Labrador.
How Long Will This Promotion Last?
We aren’t sure how long the run of Blue Star beer flags in 2021 will last. 2020’s supply was extremely limited. Based on that, we recommend keeping your eyes peeled and grabbing up a few cases when you see them!
